Your childhood trauma is affecting your adult relationships. Here is your framework to thrive.

Overcoming complex childhood trauma is within reach. When we are children and adolescents, the things that happen to us are often beyond our control or comprehension. These things are not our fault, but feelings of hurt and shame are difficult to relinquish. We carry these traumatic events, abuse, and neglect with us into adulthood, where they reappear as emotional dysregulation, difficulty maintaining healthy relationships, and even alarming physical disorders.

As a leading psychotherapist and coach, Julie Gowthorpe, PhD, bridges the gap between the wounded child and the struggling adult to repair damaged self-esteem and forge healthier, happier relationships. Research-backed and clinically proven, Gowthorpe’s methods stem from her Self-Nurturing Therapy techniques and her own practice, helping you move beyond the events of your childhood to a happier, healthier life—full of loving family and friends.

Gowthorpe’s Self-Nurturing Therapy combines two therapeutic models, attachment therapy and cognitive-based mindfulness, which address the root cause of disruption in childhood, while sharing clinical techniques for self-regulation in adulthood. Backed by academic research and augmented with inspiring case studies and exercises you can complete from the comfort and security of your own home, Heal Childhood Trauma is the next step on your journey from emotionally surviving to optimally thriving.

Whether you have tried therapy in the past or are embarking on your healing journey for the first time, Gowthorpe demonstrates that it’s never too late to change your perception of yourself and others, and confidently enjoy healthy relationships.
